Anyone been there yet this season? Just the typical; below the Maze Overlook Trail, Water Canyon spring, lower Horse

Hans Flat is not picking up the phone, and the NPS website says the line is not functioning. The general backcountry office has also been hard to get in contact with, but in the past they have not really been that connected to on-the-ground updates

I hiked from Chimney Rock across the Petes Mesa Route to the Harvest Scene and then completed the loop last weekend. There was no water at the confluence of Pictograph Fork and the South Fork- I am accustomed to seeing water there and was a little surprised not to this time. There was some water on and off in the Pictograph Fork, but not much. That's all the recent info I can help with.

Thank you. I feared less than normal.

Not real recent but ranger noted confluence was dry when we were there in October and it was. We had plenty of pothole water but were told spring below Maze overlook was viable.

Returned from my Maze trip so here's the state of affairs:

Water is no problem, despite hitting a period of very high temps after a month without precipitation. All the usual springs in the area are good, and filled potholes appear regularly too.

The route was down the Wilhite Trail, boating to Tuxedo Bottom, overland to Pre-Horse, into lower Horse then Maze Overlook area, Harvest Scene, Water Canyon, Powell Route down, boating to Spanish Bottom and return to Water Canyon, up Stove Canyon to White Crack, Murphy Trail, hitch to car.
