This was a great hike and one I'd suggest to anyone. We went up Little Cottonwood Canyon all the way to the Alta ski resort and parked a little past the fire station. From there we rode a shuttle bus up another 2.5 miles on a dirt road to the Catherine Pass trail head and proceeded with our 6+ mile hike up over Catherine Pass to the Brighton resort side of the mountain. We then hiked on past a few lakes (Catherine, Martha, Mary) then worked our way over toward Twin Lakes, which is near ski lifts for the Milicent area of Brighton. After that we worked our way along the far side of Twin Lakes and up over into Grizzly gulch and back down to the parking area. It has been a long time since we've done a day hike this long so it was quite nice despite the fact that I'm extremely out of shape and kept slowing Alene down. She's so amazing and fit.

The area was littered with wild flowers (this was in late July)

I found the wire cable from "Lost"

Sweet. And here's my usual line about The Wasatch canyons. How can I live here and never hiked up there!? SLC locals: invite me to come with sometime this year!
