I am looking for a late fall or winter sleeping bag and would like to keep it under 3lbs but not spend a ton of money as well (under 400). Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I move a lot when I sleep, sleep on my side a lot and don't like feeling confined in the tight bags. I'm leaning toward a 0-10 degree bag and would prefer down. Any recommendations or reviews would be appreciated.

I'd suggest keeping an eye on the bags over at Sierra Trading Post. Anything anywhere near full price at that weight and degree range is going to be pretty spendy. I went looking for a down zero degree bag last year because I didn't want the bulk and weight of synthetic. Not many out there - mostly synthetic. I ended up getting a 5˚ Marmot Snowcrest off STP at a screaming deal. Get on their email list and you'll get coupons for an extra 30-40% off all the time so it's not unheard of to get a total of like 60-70% off.

I just checked and they still have that same bag in regular and long. Discounted down to $250 and it's 3lb 2oz for the regular. Add in a coupon and you're even lower. Here's a link:

And I just checked my inbox. Here are some coupon codes to bring your price down more:

Take 25% off $125+ or 30% off $200+ use coupon code ALSEPT3 -
Take an extra 20% off any order use coupon code ALFALL3
Valid through October 9th.

At about $175 with coupons that bag is a no brainer, IMO. I've only used mine a handful of times but I'm a big guy and it's not too snug at all and very warm. Highly recommended.

Thanks man, that's a screaming deal! I was also looking at the sierra design Cal 6 on rei. Its on sale from 620 down to 300. That other bag is tempting especially for half the price of the sierra design
