Hello!
My name is Katie, and I'm currently based out of SLC. UT. I spent two years out of college doing trail crew and living out of back country Colorado. After that I spent two years doing vegetation surveys out of the Utah and Arizona deserts. So needless to say, I'm pretty comfortable living and surviving outside and in some pretty harsh conditions.
Since getting a 9-5 (I know, booooo) I've gotten more into powerlifting and haven't done as much backpacking and back country travel. But I'm looking to get back into it, especially since adopting my dog last summer who absolutely loves camping and being outdoors. I got her a pack and she's very comfortable wearing it around. I still have all my backpacking gear and have made some slight upgrades (spot device with texting capabilities) to improve my safety during emergencies.
I'm always looking for suggestions and improvements so I decided to join this site based on a friend's suggestion. We'll be doing our first serious trip to the Wind River this weekend!
Happy trails everyone!
