How far away from the interstate before you can't hear it?

It probably depends a lot on the landscape in any particular area. I don't recall hearing it at the end of Cliff Dweller Flat (3 miles as the crow flies). I do recall being bothered by it up around the Head of Sinbad (1 mile as the crow flies but around a rock outcropping). I am sure I didn't hear a thing down in Arson's Garden.
 
Depends on the temperature as well. At my house the freeway is rather loud in the mornings, I'm not sure if it's because of the temperature or humidity, etc... but the weather influences how far the sounds will travel.
