Got a little March snowstorm today. Temps are supposed to be in the 70s by next weekend.

I can't believe how much ash and tephra we still have everywhere.
Took these shots after my private tour in the park.
The piles are as tall as mini cinder cones.

This is the reason Iʻm wearing a hard hat when we have an eruption and chunks like these fall from the sky!!

This is a short shooting the eruption when itʻs raining rocks like this:
The wildest experience in my life!!

The past few days, we got some great tephra dust devils or volnadoes, or whatever you will name that.
Usually, we only have these during eruptions, but the past few days, they ripped through the crater whenever they wanted. No trade winds at the moment, just strong thermals and updrafts.
It was definitely pretty cool to see. They usually last a few minutes.

Well, I survived another hurricane here in Hawai'i Nei.
The power was out for almost a day, with torrential rain and massive flash flooding.
I just had a Hurricane party on my lanai and later did a campout, cooking dinner on the camp stove and using my camping lights
I think we got 25 inches of rain in about 12 hours

Everything is ready, lol

I had a really bad hair day with all the wind and humidity

Now we're digging out, getting damage assessments. Many bridges are gone, roads destroyed, and flooded
A lot of trees are still down on power lines.
Never a dull moment here in Hawai'i, especially because we had several earthquakes during the hurricane

Glad you're ok! I take it you've seen the flooding back in Hurricane?
Yeah, I saw that and they showed footage pretty close to where I used to live in Hurricane. Hiked a lot of times near Gould Wash. so crazy!

Flash flood in Hurricane, UT and now a hurricane here in Hawai’i with massive flash flooding.
I guess I prefer a flash flood in Hurricane where you at least have not 100% humidity and 86 degrees and 24 hrs no power to run a fan. Most of us do not have A/C in Hawai’i, just fans.
It’s not very pleasant
