High Uintas Wilderness - Last minute plans

Hey Everyone!

I had a trip planned to do some backpacking in SEKI, but due to all the wildfires I'm having to find new plans outside of California for a trip.
I stumbled upon this trail loop on AllTrails and wondering if going in late September / early October would too late in the season? My proposed dates are 09/30 - 10/04.

That date range should be great for the Uintas. My favorite time of year up there. Just watch for snow in the forecast. It's not super likely it'll snow, but it's always a small possibility in the fall.

Hop on Caltopo.com and try drawing some routes. There are tons of good options up there, especially at trailheads off the north slope road.

Agreed, with the East Fork Fire, the Highline trail is closed after Pigeon Milk and then all of Granddaddy, Rock Creek and Brown Duck. This also looks to include Jean and Dean Lakes.
You may be able to cut out that southern-most section on the loop and just cut down along the East Fork of the Duchesne. However, that would all be in the trees until you get up to the hordes of folks at Mirror Lake.

I would recommend looking further east in the Uintas, perhaps any of those places with a "___'s Fork" in their name. (Blacksmith, Henry, Smith, etc...)

Overall, now is a fine time to be in the Uintas with some chilly nights.
