Same ledge from below.....Just above right of the tallest tree in center foreground is the route, interesting I say!

North Fork Butte Creek is very scenic

And the upper part has no trail and is full of willows

The NF connects to the main Thorofare trail which we followed down to the Hidden Creek trail, which goes up the draw just above wsp_scott in the white hat

An intial steep climb, with the main Hidden Creek a couple miles away still

Up canyon to the falls and beyond. Intended route was to go up past the falls a continue to the NF Yellowstone River. The area around the falls appeared to be to steep and rugged for us motals to attempt. We decided to leave it to someone much younger and more insane than us.

To those who hiked up Deer Creek ...... are real men ........................................ or insane mountain men.............. Those that rode, shall we say, are wise men
Great trip even without completing our final objective. Seeing the gem of Hidden Creek was worth the trip. Great company as well.

Looking at your pictures Bob I'd agree that your descent into North Butte Creek looks interesting. . . I might even have tried that. :)

Thank you for planning an interesting route. Definitely some amazing things to see and even better when getting to see it with great people such as yourself (and everyone else in attendance).

Really interesting seeing those pics of North Butte Creek, definitely a little sketchy :)

nice photos, good trip

Nice pics Bob!

That chute doesn't look like anything special in photos, but it was pretty awful in reality.

Great report Bob! I was hoping for a picture of that old horse trail at the head of North Butte Fork. :) I may just have to go snuff that old thing out.

Hidden Creek was definitely worth the effort.

Looks like a great group hike. Very nice!

Doesn’t seem so rough, That’s only 400ft per mile average. :p
Except 4 sets of switchbacks .... Not a gradual climb..!

Well I've done the Longs Peak trail to the keyhole which is 3,800 feet of vert in 6.2 miles. But not with a pack with my life's sustenance for a week on my back. ;)

BTW, hope your summer adventures have been fantastic my friend!
