Hello From the TN/NC Mountains

"Living out is the most important quality of a person's character, it shifts the diseased indoor paradigm into a holistic one of balance, simplicity, endurance and spontaneity against the outdoor natural setting." - Tipi Walter

Welcome!

Nah, I just checked out the site you have on your post, the Smugmug one. You obviously know what you're talking about and I'm envious of your many years living outdoors as a free spirit.

Super cool to see you here Tipi, sometime I feel like I am the only easterner here :)

Hey hey HEY! Welcome, TipiWalter!!

For those of you who don't know, Tipi Walter is a bit of a legend out here (SE Appalachians) for his tireless trail maintenance (and longgggg trips without re-supply), especially in the Slickrock-Citico Wilderness. We've never met in person, but I for one am a long-time fan.

As I recall, I once found a much-needed campsite location on/near the Ball-Buster, thanks to your detailed info you gave in another backpacking forum, close to 10 years ago.

Alas the poor Ballbuster aka Upper Slickrock Creek trail #42. After the hemlock dieoff it has become almost impassable. And keeping it open is a neverending struggle.
