Moderately experienced backpacker here. DIY stove advocate and external frame pack enthusiast. I like traveling to other parts of the world and I like backpacking in the areas / on the trails less traveled. Most of my backpacking experience is in New Mexico, and I just moved to Colorado.

I'm looking to get some great ideas for trip planning, gear, and the guts to stay more than three nights out in the backcountry. The Uintas, the Sawtooths, the Tetons, and Utah/Colorado canyon country are what I'm most interested in.

Here are some pictures I've taken over the years. Thanks for having me, I look forward to getting involved.

I love the Gorge outside of Questa and Arroyo Hondo. Petroglyphs, Arsenic Springs, La Junta, lovely. Gotta get back down there. Loved living in southern Colorado. Denver is a great city with great people. Welcome and may the trail rise up to meet you.

Hey MikeM - that fourth picture is of the center of La Paz, Bolivia. The photo was taken from the city of El Alto, Bolivia, aptly named. That's my favorite personal photo of all time.

Hey Absarokanaut - yeah, northern New Mexico and the gorge are beyond description, though my personal favorite is the Cruces Basin Wilderness and surrounding national forests. Thanks for the welcome, so far so good here in Denver.

I thought it was Jerome, AZ until I saw the city below.
