Hello, everyone!

I'm Dash, writing from Austin, TX. I've been passionate about backpacking for several years, and it’s been an incredible journey so far. My partner and I have been fortunate to complete some amazing 8–11 day trips in Glacier, Olympic, and Banff. Beyond that, we’ve tackled shorter adventures in Rocky Mountain, Big Bend, Denali, Black Canyon/Gunnison, Maroon Bells, Great Sand Dunes, Superstition Mountains, North Cascades (canoe camping!), and probably a few others I’ve lost track of.

As spring permitting season rolls around, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more great trips this year. If permits don’t pan out, I’m eyeing options like the Kungsleden, Huayhuash, Alaska, or maybe discovering some awesome recommendations from all of you here!

I tend to handle most of the research, planning, and logistics for our trips. I just wish I’d found this site sooner!

Happy trails!
– Dash

HOWDEE DASH: I just delieverd a van from here in Jackson, WY to austin. Man has your city changed since I was las last there more than 40 years ago. The new highway/toll road construction was like a Science Fiction movie. All that said you've been to some awesome areas. If you ever decide to come to Greater Yellowstone note that the two National Parks only make up 12% of the ecosystem. My favorite places on earth are in your first National Forest, the Shoshone, and Bridger-Teton National Forests. there are 4 other great National Forests here. If you are comfortable with your off trail navigation skills and apex predators the possibilities are proverbially endless. Wherever you go may the trail rise to meet your feet and never your forehead. Keep your stick on the ice. Absaroka Pinnacles and Tetons from Ramshorn..jpg
