Hello everyone—I’m new to the site, and it looks awesome.
I moved to Utah about four years ago but just got called to be a Scoutmaster :) I’ve decided to take my troop backpacking as much as possible, but I don’t know the area yet. I could definitely use some suggestions on where to take them!

How old are your scouts and how much hiking/camping/backpacking experience do they already have? If they haven't done much yet, I would start with short and easy but cool scenery and optional rock scrambling fun. Hopefully they'll love it!

Welcome! Can't go wrong with the Uintas for good backpacking for all abilities and ages. Lots of Uintas information on here.

The most unique and spectacular areas in UT are probably in the canyon country of Southern UT, but unfortunately, most of those areas aren't great for large groups. If you want to do a Southern UT trip, I'd recommend going somewhere that requires permits (Paria Canyon would be perfect for this, or maybe the Needles district of Canyonlands) so that you can make sure there are enough suitable campsites for your group.
