Inspired by blueeyes 's wonderful trip report to Havasupai and the waterfalls down there I decided to see it by myself this year. I wanted to see the waterfalls for years, but the completely reshaping of the landscape after the flash flood let me postpone this trip for quit a while.
But now it's time to actually start on planning a trip down there.

I would love to go in May, preferably for 3 full nights. Any thoughts about this?
What about temperatures? Especially water temperatures? I would love to avoid the crowds on Memorial Day, so I guess I will plan for something around Mid May.
If anyone is interested to join me I will be more than happy.

My plan so far is heading out in the afternoon, camp at the trail head, start early next morning. Then stay 3 night at the campground, explore the area with all the waterfalls and do some day trips beside it. There are some interesting side trips to Beaver Falls or to the Colorado River I'm interested in.

Go for four days! Give you more time to really explore and enjoy it. Don't park on the right hand side as you drive down rocks fall and break windows. In May prepare for frigid temperatures up top! Warmer down below but we were never hot. However that is all weather dependent obviously. Memorial really wasn't too bad considering. Take a hammock! Don't get lost and end up in California on your way home and leave the 12 year old's at home. :)

Thanks Chere

If you like to go again, you're more than welcome to join me. :)
And 4 nights at the campground sounds really tempting, I will think about it.
And many of of the side trips sound really interesting.

I guess temperature wise I need to plan for everything, but I hope I do not need my cold weather gear.
