Guess the spot

Fremont Peak? Cub Creek Plateau? I just don't know that country well enough to guess. I'm sure Chuck knows where it is.
You're close enough for me! It was Pendergraft Peak from the south side of the South Buffalo Fork.

That's an example of how to guess without really knowing anything. Speaking of clueless, I don't know the name of these peaks, so instead guess the town the photo was taken from (using a telephoto, of course). Or name the range.

The photo does kind of look like Silverton, but wrong state. Go north, young man.

I'll add that this was shot with a 300mm telephoto, so there's a lot of compression. The town doesn't really sit as close to the mountains as it appears, not like Silverton does.

A hint: Venturi effect = very windy place. The wind comes through a bottleneck in the canyon and can be brutal, especially in the winter.

From the hint about wind, I'm gonna guess Livingston, MT. Looking south into the Absaroka Mountains.

I may have posted this in another thread before, but I'm running out of good pictures. lol

Name the lake or peak in the background:

Nope. This might be a bit obscure, I'll give you a hint, it is in Montana.

My apologies for the not great quality. Taken with a crappy point-and-shoot from a moving vehicle. Name the mountain range.P6130052.JPG
