Morning all,

After 4 years of failure in the Glacier lottery, I finally drew a winner and landed a slot during the first week. My group generally does a loop, but I'd be open to renting two vehicles and doing a point to point if it made sense. I'm leaning towards the classic North Circle loop, but I'm open to alternatives if anyone has a better idea. I'll have up to 10 days on the trail. Thanks all.

There are shuttles for hire too if you plan to do a point to point. Some only operate on one side of the park but IIRC there are a few willing to do longer shuttles. The permit office has numbers. Might be cheaper than a second rental car.

I ended up booking the Kintla to Bowman trip. Not ideal with the lower Kintla site closing for the season in August. I would have preferred either a North Circle Loop or Chief Mountain to Kintla, but we were limited to a specific 2 week window, and Stoney Indian Lake was too popular to make it work. Now we just have to figure out a ride from Polebridge up to the Kintla trailhead.

You can always change your plans at the permit office, pending availability. When sussing similar problems, I think my wife and I decided to go in from the East side, and do a larger " loop "with some in and out retracing that hit some of those popular spots, since getting the "North Circle" itinerary is so difficult.
