I'm pretty stoked on the new GoPro Hero3 for Freezefest, but if money were no object, I'd be all over the new weather sealed camera and lenses from Panasonic - the GH3, 12-35 f2.8, and the 35-100 f2.8.

For backcountry gear, I'm probably most interested in a Neoair Xtherm mattress.

So that's mine. What's everyone else lusting after this year?

I'm seriously considering picking up the Canon 6D early next year (assuming it ships on schedule)....would shave a little weight and bulk off of my current setup and still let me keep the full-frame that I like.

yeah, that 6d looks mighty tempting. can't wait to see some hands on reviews of it. do you have a 5dII or III right now?

This Marmot Pinnacle down sleeping bag. Need to get my pack weight back down to a less absurd level, and I love the stats of this thing.

This Panasonic Lumix M43 for those tight slots where weight and space is at a premium.

This Slik Mini to accompany said camera into slot canyons.

This Imlay Canyon Gear sand trap.

These Imlay Canyon Gear pot shots.

And this Everlast Slimming Belt so I look even hotter on the trail next year.

Why does it seem that my gear list never really gets that much shorter??

Backpacking Gear
First Needs XL - My filter is finally dead so time for a new one. I love the XL.
Osprey Stratos 36 - I totally destroyed mine over the last year. Time for a new one!
Osprey Atmos 50 - While I loved backpacking with the Stratos 36 in 2012, I think I want an Atmos 50 to have around for longer/colder trips in 2013.
Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp

Canyoneering Gear
Sterling ATS Descender
A set of Petzl Tiblocs
Buck 750 Redpoint Knife

Camera Gear
An m4/3 camera, but which one?? Something between the G3 and an EM-5. Decisions…
Olympus 9-18mm m4/3 lens

I'm picking up the Canon 6D in December. I'll post a review on here when I've ran it through it's paces. I've got a couple weddings in December to shoot so I'll get a good idea of the low light capabilities.

do you worry about the 6d autofocus for weddings? seems fairly crippled.

I'm currently using the original 5D so I'm sure the auto focus on the 6D will be an improvement :D. Not really worried about it. I typically use my cameras with a single focus point selected and the majority of the time it is the center, cross-type point. Canon specs say the center point has EV -3 sensitivity which is basically moon light I believe. Pair that with the ISO capabilities and I think I will be satisfied.

Try sending it back to Osprey they have a lifetime warranty.

I need a heavy winter coat. I can layer and get there, but I need something a bit more heavy duty.

camera wise- a lens in the 12-20mm range, cannon mount, prime.
