Franconia Ridge today

I like the frost/snow covered sign with the view in the background.

5100 feet is no joke and then snow on top of it, sounds like a great day

Gusts in the 30s. Plenty of places to get out of the wind in the cols. Pretty mild by White mountain "winter" standards. Can't wait for the snow to fill in the rocks so it's snowshoe season.
I was gonna say... that's about as calm as it gets this time of year. Great report, thanks!

My wife is from NH. One of these days when we go back to visit I'm going to sneak out and check it out.

Timely, I'll be there next week. May have one day for a hike out of Brattleboro. Thinking Ascutney, as I haven't done that yet. Extended forecast have more snow coming or will that snow melt a bit? Last year it was a loop in Pisgah St Pk and Monadnock the Dec. before that. Love NH!!!! Thanks for the look, getting psyched!

It was a lifetime ago but I roved Lib Spr., Garfield, Guyot as a caretaker for the AMC, 1987.

Being born a Massh___e I am of course biased but the Franconia Ridge/Falling Waters Loop is one of the great dayhikes of the world. Moosilaukee is however my favorite in the Whites. Many thanks for the awesome pics and rekindled memories.
