We are weeks behind with photos…. Here’s a little fall color close to Abiquiu, NM a few weeks ago. Bonus: nice fresh bear tracks and some quicksand.











And that was quicksand in between the 3 boulders on the left. Up close it looked just as solid as the middle of the river bed, but it wasn’t as Rick found out!

Still chasing the fall colors as they are getting lower in elevation. Spring Creek Canyon.

Escalante River yesterday- peak to past peak colors.

just about the last of any color here in our area … mostly understory trees like beech and occasional small oak.

The last colors of fall in City Creek Canyon on November 1st, after cycling to the top of the canyon. Believe it or not, there are quite a few apple trees up City Creek and they had the brightest yellows along the way, but the birches were close behind, and there were even a few cottonwoods that still had something to say, and two maples, and some shrubs, provided the only reds this time of year.

Thanks, it's a popular point in Shenandoah typically very crowded. But much better late afternoon on a weekday.

The foliage here in Virginia has also been the best I've seen in the last 3-4 years. Been pretty muted the last few due to warm falls. The wet and cold October seemed to helped this year

The fall colors in Zion are amazing this year. I took advantage and spent the last few days in the park between my work shifts

A large Cottonwood in lower Salt Creek was hanging onto a little color a week ago.





Further on the trail, the leaves were down….
