We had a great few days in the Tetons. Perfect time of the year for snow travel. We hit patchy snow at 8,400’ near the junction of Garnet Canyon and Surprise Lake trail. Snow was continuous above 9,000’. We mostly stayed on top no problem. Camped at Surprise Lake on about 5’ of snow. The lakes are still frozen. Climbed the Spoon Couloir on Disappointment Peak. Axe and crampons needed. Avalanche hazard low but did see a few recent wet sloughs across the way on Middle Teton.
