I'm curious about one of the things the person advocates. He says to follow your spot on your phone. I don't know anything about CalTopo, but what little experience I have with apps, the dot and the trail can be separated. In my experience, I know I've been on the trail, because I can see it in all of its 18 inch wide visible-ness, and my app will show the trail being a little "over there." Is CalTopo much more accurate about your location? And if you put that line on the map, how accurate is that?
I didn't hear anything about the man who disappeared last fall. Did they do more searching for him?
