Serious question, though, @scatman , you didn't happen to be on Borah Peak last August in a kilt, did you? When I hiked it this summer there were two guys in kilts, but I don't remember exactly what they looked like. I may have passed you without even knowing it. Would've given you the hand signal had I known...

So appreciative of your devotion! I want all 3 in the calendar! Hey maybe you should just make your own calendar?! 12 months of Scatman!!

I don't think people could handle twelve months of Scatman. Twelve Months of Scatman sounds like a horror movie, or perhaps a Stephen King novel.

Speaking of Stephen King, I saw the movie IT a few months ago and while watching I thought to my self, "I wonder if you can hike in clown shoes?" Yes, my mind seems to wander off on tangents (sin/cos for you math whizzes) every now and then. :) I wonder what the pros and cons of backpacking in clown shoes would be? Hmmm.

Are yes and no the only choices we get? After seeing him in the swimsuit top, I think he deserves his own site. It could dovetail with this one, and be called Backcountry Sights.

I'm certainly not dedicated enough to create my own site, though I do like the title Backcountry Sights.

Just vote "Yes" so we can improve BCP. :)

OMG, and I don't use that phrase lightly... What have I done to encourage this? I think I may be more traumatized than he is. :help:

Just wait till you have to backpack with me!

I can only imagine. Another day in the family life of the Scat.

I kind of expected no results of my encouragement but since he staged the cheesecake shots I am surprised no secret BCP trail sign/handshake...

I've only attempted the backcountry trail sign/handshake in the backcountry. I'm not sure the frontcountry is ready for it yet. It could put me in a tight spot. :)

oh, my eyes!!!

You and the rest of the members of BCP. :D

No, that wasn't me you saw on Borah Peak. Two people in kilts at the same time? I thought us kilt wearers were like Siamese Fighting Fish (Betas). When we see another person wearing a kilt, our kilts fluff out and the hair on the back of our necks stand up as we slowly circle each other looking for points of weakness. :D

Seriously, I've only seen one other person wearing a kilt while I've been hiking or backpacking and that was here locally along the Wasatch Front. I did see a man wearing a kilt when I exited from the backcountry in Yellowstone, but he was doing the touristy thing, so I'm not sure that counts.

I definitely would have given you the signal if we had passed on the trail.

I'll also add that if you get the boot, I'm going to start a protest in downtown SLC. We'll all wear kilts and swimsuit tops, male and female alike, and well-worn cycling caps and do the BCP secret salute while chanting "Fremont Peak." (I know it makes no sense, but that's the Scatman way.)

And those who follow the FSM can wear colanders over their cycling caps.

I should have captioned my first image as "Pointing at Fremont Peak."

My Honey Stinger cycling cap is nearing its end. I went to their site to order myself a new one, but lo and behold they no longer carry them. I was crushed and spent the rest of my day curled up in a little ball in my bed. :( So the cap you see in my images was the replacement cap for the Honey Stinger one.
