Death on the Rap in Grand County

Saw in the news that somebody died in Grand County in a rappelling accident. Sad stuff.

Anybody know what happened? It's always useful to review our own procedures when we have hobbies with such a small margin of error!

Just got back from backpacking but I saw this on KSL. Looks like it happened at Tear Drop Arch. Sad stuff.

i think KSL misnamed the location in that story. it's called tear drop, or pool arch, but not to be confused with the arch in monument valley they pictured - i'm almost certain you can't rappel off.

sounds like the fall was part of the "rock of ages" route.
