Coyote Gulch - camp in Hurricane Wash?

I'm going with my cousin (her first time backpacking) to Escalante in a week, and she's having some foot issues and doesn't know how far she can go with a loaded pack. Our plan is to start at Hurricane Wash and camp the first night at the confluence with Coyote Gulch. I'm going to carry as much extra weight as I can, but if she's having a hard time is there a place to camp along Hurricane Wash before the confluence? I've looked on google earth but can't tell. If we did that, I would go to the confluence to get water and bring it back.
