Gave up after endless pages of Google results regurgitating the same article, but did find this one post from NPS from a few years back:

Note they say the poop has been tossed into crevasses and travelled down through melt water for the last 70 odd years, hardly a recent or pending phenomenon. They were also conducting a 4-year poop melt (awesome), the results of which seem highly relevant to the possibility raised in these recent articles.

Can't find any follow-up posts sadly.
