It's just such beautiful country - or maybe was. I spent a few days there wandering around one summer a few years back. Hung out at Tim Horton's, then watched the trains, walked around some of the historic neighborhoods, then left and hiked part way up Mt. Robson and on to Prince George. I really liked it, in spite of the tourists (which I was one). I also liked Golden on the other side of the mtns, and I heard there's a big fire over there, also, and they've lost a few structures near the town. Glad I went when I did because Jasper will never be the same. Read that some of the birdges along the Icefields Parkway were burned and need to be checked for safety now. Really feel for the animals, as well as for all the displaced people.
