I loved this canyon. Growing up in Kanab left me always knowing about and always wanting to go through Buckskin Gulch and I finally did!

The original plan for the trip was planned 3 months ago with my brother and brother-in-laws...within the last week all four canceled on me, but luckily I had some friends ready to go.

Due to the slow cancelation of the relatives we got a late start to the day, started hiking about 10:30 a.m. from the Wire Pass trailhead.

It was a great trip down the Gulch. There weren't any pools, no mud, just gorgeous canyon the whole way. Finally within the last mile before the confluence with the Paria there was enough water to filter and refill.

I'm totally drooling!!!! We tried this canyon a couple years ago in the spring and we got rained out. The rangers said there was flowing water in the canyon that made safe passage impossible. I'll have to hit you up for more info later.

Thanks again, Salud!

Yeah right now its bone dry! we were worried we would have to pack enough water for the two days! Luckily the confluence picked up and had enough to filter...barely!

Very nice! I bet it was nice being in that deep slot with the hot July heat.

It was the best! The first mile and half at Wire Pass and the last few miles out Paria were HOT! but the rest was extremely pleasent!

Bumped up on my list think this might be my next backpack trip! Love the pictures.

I did this the last week of June last year. IMO, a great time of year to do this one!
