I'm off to a slow start, but with 30 days coming up in August under the stars, I may be in the running!

3 nights, April 5-7: Faver Dykes State Park, St. Augustine, Florida.​

I'd count a couple other nights I passed out on the beach, but I don't remember the dates, or much else. :sleepy2:

So, at least 33 nights total. Will have 5 more nights backpacking the Uintas starting day after tomorrow :D. Another 5 in three weeks in the La Sals. That will put me up to 43 before the end of August. Should end up somewhere between 50-55 for the year.

Edit: Just remembered a trip in April, one of the best all year actually. Seven Mile, Smith Fork, Halls Creek and Happy Canyon - 3 nights. So 36 total (that I can remember...) so far this year.

I'll play. Long ago I started tracking my nights on the ground under the stars. I rate the quality of my year by this number of nights and the goal is 40 nights. Anything less than that is a shame and that year wasn't as good as it should have been. It is a primary life goal. I keep track in a folder or place called my fun done folder. This is also how I keep track of the places I have been and the photos I have taken.

So anyway, here is my annual totals (full disclosure: a few years back my wife and I bought a backcountry trailer for winter camping and a small number of my nights, mostly in the winter, were out under the stars but in our trailer usually at the end of some dirt road. I count 'em because they fulfill my purpose of keeping track in the first place.)

I'm still waiting for my main camping season here in Western New York: fall foliage and waterfalls in October ;)
one of the most busy times for me

Anyway, beside that I will add 6 more nights end of August to Labor Day with a trip to the Adirondacks.
