I'm looking for some suggestions for a Memorial Day weekend camping trip. Dogs are too old for backpacking, so I'm looking for a quiet, isolated place for some car camping. Just something down a dirt road with a view and good exploring potential during the day. I'm looking for something in Utah or surrounding states within easyish driving distance from Salt Lake. 4x4 road OK. Anybody willing to give up their secret spot? I'll treat it nice...

The West Desert will have plenty of quiet spots that weekend. Maybe go check out the Deep Creek range south of Wendover, or you could camp near the Wah Wahs and also check out the ghost town of Frisco.

The San Rafael Swell is loaded with places where you can avoid people too, if you're looking for more of a Colorado Plateau experience.

Too many options! Just drop your finger on a map and you'll find somewhere cool.

There will be lot's of people out camping on Memorial Day weekend. I second what @Jackson said about the west desert. There are plenty of spots you could find out there. You might even look into driving along the old Pony Express Trail. That's what is so great about Utah, there is always some where to camp and go explore without being around a ton of people.
