I'm looking at heading up to Causey sometime soon to see the kokanee salmon spawning. Has anyone been up there recently? Are there any good campsites up there?

We took canoes in with the scouts a couple years back and camped back along the Southeast finger. There are a few campsites back there. As mentioned above, there are quite a few campsites along the South Fork river that flows out of Causey.

We used to canoe up the Southeast finger yearly to a spot at the end of it. There are actually two spots there, one with the cross for a deceased individual and one right next to it. It is one of my favorite places to camp. There is also another spot about midway up the finger on the South side but you would have to look close because it's kinda hidden from the water. Additionally, there are a couple more spots on the North side up some of those fingers.

I would suggest canoing in, you could backpack it but it is great paddle. The campgrounds on the way up are overcrowded with people partying and playing rap music into the wee hours of the morning. Also tons of skunks.

There are also camp sites at the end of the Skull Crack trail if you wanted to do a short backpack (2 miles each way).
I kayaked back there twice this year taking my kids, it can get pretty busy back there at times though.
