Just found this site today via of a friend. I moved from Michigan in 1976 to explore the beautiful landscape of the Colorado Plateau. I've never tired of it but my interests have. These days I go exclusively in the summer. No crowds and an abundance of thunderstorms.

I look forward to reading about the adventures of others and enjoying the beautiful pictures.

Welcome to BCP! That's an awesome picture. I usually find myself doing the opposite and heading to the mountains in the summer and leaving the hot desert behind, but I hope to change that a bit this year. Bring on the monsoons! :)

Thank you Nick.

Mountains are nice but there's nothing like the desert during the monsoons. The key to summer visitation is elevation. Most of the places I visit are high with good tree cover. One exception is the Land of Standing Rocks in the Maze district. The sun can be overwhelming but the storms are awesome.
