Every year we celebrate St Pat's Day and my B-day by skiing across the Hogan Park Trail on Rabbit Ears Pass to the Steamboat ski area. It's about a 7 1/2 mile trek across the pass at roughly 10,000 ft of elevation. The adventure starts on the pass (Hwy 40) and ends at the base of the ski area with many stops along the way. 3 1/2 mile descent at the ski hill, about 3600 vertical. Mandatory Irish Car Bomb shots, Guinness Stout breaks, and a smoke stop or two for our newest legal substance abounded. At least we're getting some exercise.

The usual suspects

Love it! Celebrating St. Patty's Day right.:)
This crew likes to get their exercise while they drink. Besides.. the ski area checks people's packs at the gondola for alcohol on suspect days. This is the backdoor route to the area for smuggling in beer.
I also love.. how many people "say" they are going on the march. I would need a Greyhound Bus to get all the potentials up there. I'm glad it stays at a manageable size. We've had over 20 before, and it starts to become a cat herd.
