It's time for a short swiss report.
Last summer, after being in the Matterhorn area, we also wanted to see the Aletsch Glacier.
With its length of 23km/14.7mi and an average width of 1800m/1.1mi, the Aletsch Glacier is the largest and longest glacier in the alps.

It wasnt' a long hike and it was quite touristic.
We stayed at the campground in Fiesch and took the funicular up to the Eggishorn.

The station isn't exactly on top of the Eggishorn so we had to hike 15mins to reach the top.
It was a bit crowded but the view was good.

We could even see the Matterhorn from there.

On the way down...

Halfway down, we stopped at a small lake.

We were a bit too lazy, we spent too much time there so when we eventually decided to take the last bit, it was already late in the afternoon. We didn't know how long the funicular was running and how long it takes to get there so we took the short way which leads down though a tunnel.
I've never hiked through a tunnel, did you?
Shortly after the tunnel. we came across some collapsed stables, shacks or whatever.

I know this was a bit sissy-like but I thought I'll show you some pictures because the region itself is quite nice.
