Today we hit the Adirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb for some snowshoeing in the sunshine. The Center was originally operated by NY State but during a budget crunch back in 2008/9 SUNY ESF (one of my alma maters) took over the operation of the Center. ESF staff, students, and volunteers maintain the trails & take care of the Visitor Center building.

Mrs. kwc on the trail ...

Looking out towards Rich Lake

lf you look closely you can see the fire tower on the top of Goodnow Mtn. The tower was restored by ESF students and is maintained by the college.

Otter slides in the snow! But we didn't get to see any otters ...

there's a bench under that snow ...
