Planning a trip where we will fly into Las Vegas. Is anyone familiar with the Las Vegas area and know how hikers can access the canyons to the east of Turtlehead Mountain in the Red Rock Canyon area? There is a new development, Summerlin West, in that area and it looks like many of the dirt roads leading to trailheads (for example the road starting at: 36.164219, -115.379951) are now blocked. I don't mind parking at legal pullouts and walking on old dirt roads if that provides the shortest access to the area.

For anyone interested in this topic, I found a map with the private property and BLM land borders on the east side of Red Rock Canyon. See: https://littleredrock.org/ . It looks like Calico Basin or the Turtlehead Mountain trail up to and over a saddle provides the best access to the area.
