I figured I'd walk for about two days in to a high rim, find precious little pothole water, wander for a day, and walk two easy days back. Routes were from my backcountry Ranger days with Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Escalante Subdistrict. Only problem was hitting limited routes through cracks and joints and side canyons without wasting too much time, water, and achilles tendon credits. Heavy winter pack and two gallons of water made for some tedious trudging. A good zero degree bag (North Face Nova) made lows in the teens comfortable, out on the rocks. A sturdy (but heavy) Dana Designs classic ArcFlex Terraplane (made in Bozeman, MT!) handled the load fine, as usual. Great trip, but the people were lacking, as in, there was no one but me
