Red Castle & Little East Fork Blacks Fork, Uintas

It has been 6 years since I have been to Red Castle, however when my son and I were making our way out, we set up camp late about 2-3 miles from the trailhead and were woken up early morning by my dog growling and a fast approaching and large herd of cattle grazing straight for our camp just off...

    Best Backpacking in early June

Friends and I 'accidentally' did sand Creek 5 years ago. There were 32 Beaver dams at the time and in my opinion doesn't even match death hollow.

    Multi-day hike: questions on tent/food?

Here is an offer for a free Mountain House by mail when you purchase one in store. I have tried the Sweet and Sour Pork and already bought it again for my next trip. http://www.mountainhouse.com/m/free.html

Anyone shot with the new Canon 16-35?

Bumping this thread. Any more thoughts on this lens? Still a keeper vs the 2.8. I'm ready to upgrade both my camera and lenses and 90% of my shots are landscape and night shots. I was thinking of getting the 16-35 f4 for daylight shots and the Rokinon 14mm for night shots, though I've seen...

    Album Sunrises

Wife and I went down to Bryce Canyon over this past weekend. Caught this pic at Natural Bridge. Shot this with my Canon t5i and kit 18-135 lens. Comp of two pics. I cannot wait to upgrade. About half of the cameras I saw there were the Sony a7r ii which is what I'm considering getting as well...

Album Night Shots and Star Trails

First real attempt at this. At Lone Rock, off of the Dugway exit. Shot with a Canon T5i and kit lens. Next year I will be stepping up my gear and am excited for what is to come of it. Milky Way at Lone Rock by James E. Bailey, on Flickr

    Eating gel on the trail

I like the GU gels. Salted caramel is the best. They are cheap, so just grab some and try. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Red Pine Lake

Went up to Red Pine Lake for the first time. I hiked up Friday afternoon and left Saturday morning. It is a very popular hike as I have read in some other trip reports and saw for myself. It was good for me to get out and there were some nice sights to see. The weather was perfect. Sunset...

    Hammocks- the thread

I've been hanging for four years now. Made my own version of the warbonnet and my own tarp. I can sleep on my back, sides and stomach comfortably. Unless I use an air mattress, I haven't had a bad nights sleep since. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Headed to Zion-Need waterproof options

Nice pic. I have a gopro also, but glad I took my dslr. One of these days I'll post some sweet pics from my trip. I used two dry bags. One inside and then in orderville I used the other on the outside for the several swims we had. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Headed to Zion-Need waterproof options

Got our passes several months ago and I should have been planning ahead more as to how to pack my camera. We are headed down Subway and Orderville, a trip we did 3 years ago. Water conditions could be different, but I remember having no choice but to swim in a couple of places. Has anyone...
