Going to add these to my list! Thank you! I'm currently reading and enjoying The Overstory, which is fictional. A bunch of vignettes that are all tied together by their relations to trees and nature. Another Pulitzer winner. It's been really great so far.

Yeah my photo was 2019. I noticed the lower water level in more recent satellite imagery and didn't realize the dam was breached! All yours if you wanna take it!

I never saw any elk in the Uintas in all my times up there. Heard one bugling in mid September a bit below Naturalist Basin once. Also up near Clyde Lake around the same time of the year.

Great trip and nice photos! Good choice on the shuttle route. I love the stretch of trail along Shoshone Creek. This one made me laugh. When I stayed there, it was at the end of a long day with rain, snow, and cold wind. That spur trail felt interminable to me at that point.

We are finally getting some of that rain up here tonight. Should continue on and off through tomorrow also. I think it will help a lot with the nearby fires. Not so sure about the Oregon and Washington ones though.
