I'm not willing to skip out on Canyonlands just because they require a hard-sided cannister in The Needles... I use a Ursack just about everywhere I go, but there are still a couple of places I enjoy going to that require hard-sided cannisters....

Mine fits in my pack, but I've come across a number of people who carry it empty on the outside.

Really? Why do you say that? I have been driving at JK for over 10 years and have had no problems with either of the ones I've owned, and I put A LOT of miles on them, both on and off-road.

I can't tell you what water is going to be link at the end of June, but it was already very dry on Cedar Mesa this spring and we haven't had much, if any rain, since then. I suspect water will be tough to come by, especially since we've been breaking heat records this week on the Colorado Plateau!

I think any place that requires the use of WAG bags should have a place to drop them off when you are done, since otherwise most people will drop them in the first garbage can they come across. I know the Elephant Hill trailhead it The Needles has a garbage can that is only for used WAG bags.

I get it. Those campsites are used every night (from spring through fall, at least) by groups of people...it wouldn't take long for there to be a ring of catholes circling each campsite about 200 feet out.
