It does have built-in low voltage protection. But it draws only a very small amount of current. I've had it for about three years now, used on every trip (and I do get out a bit), hasn't been an issue. It won't be an issue, really.

Have not used it. Researched it heavliy when I was deciding what to go with for a backpacking spin outfit. Came to the conclusion that it was a pretty worthless POS, when all was said and done. So crossed it off my list.
Like I said though, never actually used it. And... I have a long...
Fly fishing is great, on it's unique merits. But most Uintas lakes, a spin outfit is the way to go if you just want to catch fish. I have a really nice backpacking spin outfit, but, it's not cheap. It's a St. Croix pack rod with a Shimano Stradic Ci4. It's pretty light weight and fun to...

Holy cow! I had not priced them since I bought mine three years ago. They have sure gone UP! I paid more like $599 for mine.
I've had it for about three years now, can't say enough...
Thanks for all the kind comments everyone, I appreciate them!
I think the water situation is very year to year, and seasonal too. There was lots of water on this trip. Lots. Backpacking in there last year, it was a lot more dry. We were able to find enough water, but not without some...

The next morning I drove to the Todie...

And, based on how much water I have been seeing in the area in general this spring, I would...
Very common after that kind of road work. Have experienced it and seen it too many times. That crappy sharp gravel is always bad. But the worst is some roads that after being graded the larger country rocks get freshly exposed and stood up. Those are the ones that will shred a sidewall...

I usually use LR and I just have a preset for "1024 long edge" and sRGB, with a watermark (just started that very recently after seeing another of my coyote images get poached...), that's my "save for web" preset.

I've noticed huge differences in how my images appear across different monitors. I don't own a monitor worth hardware calibrating, but have used simple DIY adjustments to calibrate a couple of them as best I can - like Randy said, for printing. What I find, is an image that looks good on one...
