I haven't seen mine, but I'd heard the REI dividend was out so I went by REI at lunch just to look around 'cause it's definitely time for some new light-hiker boots. My previous light-hikers lasted almost 4 years and most of that being beat up and soaked in slot canyons so I was eager to find...
I still like Bogley; I've met a lot of really cool people there (hell, I met most of you there), learned about some really cool spots there, and participated in some great trips to those cool spots with those cool people, and ya know, sometimes I like to argue in the political section too. I'll...
And speaking of trying to define what counts, I wonder about Army camp. We usually spend two weeks every summer at Camp Williams. It can change though; last year we spent those two weeks in the Dominican Republic and other times we've gone other places. This year we'll be at Camp Williams...
Colton Station cabin, north of Vernal on the South slope of the Uinta's. During the summer you can drive to it, but in winter it's 3 or 4 miles in. We took snowshoes and didn't really need them 'cause there wasn't much snow, but we did hike in.
So a winter trip there might count? But a summer...
I'll play. Did we say we're not counting New Years Eve? I was out then, but came home on New Years Day. The only other sleeping bag night this year was in a rented ranger cabin, are we counting that? Probably not since the wood stove was so warm I didn't really use my sleeping bag.
So, I guess...
Fat Man's has a couple raps, but if you're backpacking Upper Parunaweep there's no rappel; it's similar to hiking the Zion Narrows.

Went down there with Cody last June. We didn't do the length; we went down Fat Man's Misery, camped a half-mile or so East of where Fat Man's meets the Parunaweep. We hiked East a couple miles, then back to camp and out to Checkerboard Mesa. I want to get back down there and do a full couple...
I too carry mini-speakers and an MP3 player. I take them everywhere. I don't listen while doing technical canyons 'cause communication is important, but during the long slog back the the car it really keeps me moving. Plenty of canyon swims I've worried that my dry bag would leak and soak my...
Have you bumped up your storage space at Picasa? I was amazed to find you could get 20 Gigs more space for only 5 bucks a year. (Also can be used in Google docs if you need more space there.)

I like the idea of a classifieds section. I also like the idea of it being only for trusted people. But, being the newest member here, and considering that I've met a bunch of you in person, I could see the logic in overlooking a post-count rule for people who are well known in the community.
