I'm looking to get my xc skis out this weekend! 8 inches down here in the valley over the last 2-3 days, and we've barely cracked 20F in that time period. Maybe going below 0 tonight. Seems like this happens every year in late October, then it warms up again for the next few weeks.

I am here for the continuing entries in this series. Loved this one. Incredible waterfall and looked like a fantastic day to be out in that area. And in the words of today's youth, the shot of you all around the fire "goes hard."

Ah yeah, I imagine so. We were surprised we didn't run into any north-bound CDT hikers actually since it was still early September. Figured there would still be some people on the tail end of the pack around then.

This was really cool to see. I get seasick even on kayaks after a little while, so this whole thing would've been a no-go for me. You guys sure ate well! And it was interesting seeing that aspen forest with the ferns down below. What a cool place.

Fabulous foliage out there. That is a heck of a day, and really crappy that it was capped off with that stab o_O Insult to injury, having to go that much longer without eating anything after such a long hike!

Fantastic! It's really interesting to see how overgrown/not heavily used that site (and probably several others in that area) is. All the sites I've ever stayed at are mostly bare hard packed dirt in the area all around the fire ring.

Wish I knew it at a glance because I'd have come in with the legal description.

As you'd suspect, we use it in the legal system so we have a precise way to refer to tracts of land, usually when they're being transferred. I've never met anyone who knew the legal description for their own real estate though. Haha.
