Finally got a chance to get my new AT skis out this past weekend. Did a short loop at the edge of the Pintlers.

There aren't a lot of other active members in my neck of the woods, so my preferred locations might not be all that popular overall. But would be cool to see something like Tobacco Roots, or Pintlers. Maybe even just Glacier National Park.

I'm only kidding...actually Clark Canyon reservoir is a pretty cool place, but like you said for most people it is just a place to pass on your way through SW Montana. We'd spent a few weekends camping down there when I was a kid.

Meh, you're not missing much...although the Beaverhead River below the reservoir is world class fly fishing.

Looks pretty great for a kit lens and your first time. What did you use to light up the tent in that first shot?
