If I'm backpacking I usually carry one nalgene and anything else is a disposable plastic bottle.

My friends say my nalgenes are a part of me as I'm always carrying one. Even when I commute by bike I take my nalgene because I like drinking out of it more. I wish they'd solve my dilemma and make a water bottle for bike holders.

Those overshoe things are a great idea. might have to look into next year as sometimes I prefer the comfort of my summer hiking shoes.

Skied for the first times last season. I'm still no the best at going downhill on the skinny skis but with time it'll get better. I need to buy my own so i can go whenever too.

You should! I'm going to have to take an outdoor class for my major when I transfer to the UofU. Let me tell you I'm disappointed having to spend time outside instead of sitting in a class all semester, what a horrible thought. The hardest part will be trying to decide what class to take.

Duct tape works wonders. When I was in Russia with my sister one of our suitcases got a giant hole in it. Luckily we'd packed duct tape with us so we covered the entire bottom of the suitcase with it (inside and out) . We still use it for other trips too.
