My success rate is now 50%. Didn't get a date, and neither did my friend. Fortunately, Jessica at least got 4/17. She has a 100% success rate.

I know it's gotta be southern Absarokas since it looks like it and we are the online fanclub for that area, but I haven't been there enough to know precisely where. North Buffalo Fork?

Haha I have not, but my friend has. He said it was one of the hardest hikes he's done. Trail was in poor shape and impossible to find higher up the canyon. And I guess the way was not intuitive once they lost the trail. He showed me pictures of the lake though, and it is amazingly beautiful...

It's too bad because they used to be excellent. Lots of other solid brands out there at least.

Scapegoat Mountain, Scapegoat Wilderness. That will be a really cool trip!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of it and had it become an irrational fear haha.

I noticed that I could fit into one, no problem. Haha. The problem is that there didn't seem to be a way to get yourself out if the door latches and no one is around! Makes sense they would phase them in since they require a lot less effort than a hang.

I'm intrigued! Were you doing it in the dark? We saw a mountain goat in Bechler Canyon once and it was very surprising. I guess they are good at finding their way into unlikely places.

Be sure to go for it! This route was good, and it would also be cool to link it with Slough if you can get decent sites.

If you were feeling adventurous, you could do it as a day hike and try hitching for a shuttle. Or doing a shorter out and back starting where we finished. Worth a visit for sure! (I thought about mentioning you when I was talking about flat tire issues in this one)
