Yeah, this is definitely the crux of the route. After this point heading up, there a few other sketchy, somewhat exposed places, but nothing like this, and nothing that can't be easily defeated with a partner assist and pack lowering/raising. Definitely wouldn't want to do this route solo.

Yes. You'd either want to be completely pack-free, or carry a 20-30' rope for lowering/raising packs if thru-hiking. The rope could also be used for a belay if anyone felt the need.
