@Outdoor_Fool that's it, Gyrfalcon Lake is the small high lake, and vulture peak is in my opinion one of the most iconic mountains in the park

From what I've seen on a map (which may or may not be correct) is that the area is at the black rock road exit (there are signs for it) is on BLM land. So you may be able to use that info

you got it @Nick , the canyon was I think Snake Alley or Sidewinder canyon and I went down it with friends during the summer. The picture was from a winter return trip in December.
