    Guess the spot

I almost did on this trip, but I've never rappelled a canyon actually, so no, not Eardley.

    Question about Deer Creek

There is some really killer sandstone walking between Deer and the Gulch. Steve Allen marks some of it in a big loop in Canyoneering 2. I believe he says something akin to, "For the sandstone aficionado...." That's enough for me. I've walked the area, and there is PLENTY to explore. If you...

    Guess the spot

Love that loop. I slept close to where you took that photo. I'd really like to get more time in Southern Circle Cliffs for some more exploration. Where's this? Model @Artemus is not allowed to answer.

Neff's Canyon - From Gray to Golden

I love Neff's. Thanks for writing this up. I spent a night in that meadow just above the aspen's, I was awoke by a few different people. It was alright, but a short drive to the Uinta's will always be favorable to me.

Boulder Mail Trail - Logistical Qs

Mamie Creek has reliable water. That is where I decided to camp for the night. As an overnight, I think that's the best spot to stop. There are some great spots near the Pinyon Pines in that canyon. Spectacular hike. Near the end of the hike you see the town of Escalante. You still have...

    Not Super Happy About This....

I hear you on the partisan bickering. I also agree annoying manner of back and forth on our public lands policy. I disagree that critique of Zinke has been because one side lost though. It's a bit more than saying FU to the half of the country that wants parking lots to be closer. I heard...

    Chambers

I like hearing climber's interpretations for climbing grades in slot canyons. I often read "5.11d X!" in some canyon descriptions, and then see a video of a 5.8 handjam on the video. It's apples vs. oranges really Thanks for posting some pictures. The chambers sections look really cool.

Absarokas Fun Route - 12 Days of High Adventure

Man, the high alpine up there looks pretty great. The long views make me curious why it's not a more popular range for Hikers. Thanks for taking the time to write it up and share.

    A Swell Plan B

I was thinking about taking the fam out to the swell this weekend, but the forecast doesn't look favorable for a 7 week old, and a 22 month old. I'll have to wait.

    Southern Utah Quickie

I almost typed this, but didn't want to assume something for you. I'm completely the opposite. I'll go to the desert 9.9 times out of 10 over the mountains. I've done quite a bit of walking in the Uinta's, and given the choice, I'd rather do the BMT than anything in that range. I only escape...

    Southern Utah Quickie

That's kind of insane to me. I think that entire hike is one of the most beautiful things I've done anywhere. I actually prefer the miles after Death Hollow much more than Death Hollow itself. To each their own I suppose. When I did it, I just wished I had more time to explore more. Anyway...
