My nephew is 8 years old, and a huge Bengals fan. He really knows football. He's wearing his AJ Green Jersey right now (along with receiver gloves he got for Christmas), and my entire family is watching this game. I only see my nephews once a year, so needless to say, I'm pulling for the Bengals.

Silver Falls, Choprock Canyon, Neon Canyon, Escalante River Loop

:) Bob actually does talk a lot, and he's pretty funny. His personality (along with his knowledge and experience) make these trips very enjoyable. I'd hike with him anytime. :) We did this trip at the end of March. There is water for at least a mile above the narrows, up until the Poison...

Yes, it was a dry camp. You know Bob, he only drinks a liter a day. :)

The Hobbs inscription is in Silver Falls Canyon, not in Choprock. I believe he used his axe to chop the inscription. I feel like I've read somewhere that Choprock gets its name from a large rock above the canyon that looks like its chopped. But I can't remember.

Bengals look good with A.J. at qb. He knows how to "manage" good teams. I won't be surprised if they actually win a few playoff games this year.

    Death Hollow In the Spring

Yeah, it seems to be hit and miss with everyone. And people who have never had a problem with it suddenly do. Just know that it is all over the place there. But you can avoid it by walking in the creek. There are use trails in some areas that go right through chest high patches of it. Its...

Partners for Twin Lakes, Sawtooths+Titcomb & Cirque of the Towers, Winds

All 3 spots are awesome places. My dates don't match up, otherwise I'd consider joining you. I highly suggest adding Toxaway Lake to your loop. In fact, I would suggest going towards Edith Lake to start, and hike the high route around to Toxaway, then go over to Alice and Twin Lakes. You...

    Guess the spot: Maps Edition

It does look like a river that's dammed up. Either my eyes are bad, or Ben cleverly made it so we can't read anything written on that map.

Gates of the Arctic NP, North Fork Koyukuk River packraft

Another fantastic report Ben. Are you thinking of going back up there again this year? Also, isn't there a story to the State Trooper picking you up?
