Silver Falls, Choprock Canyon, Neon Canyon, Escalante River Loop

There is nothing technical or difficult, if you stay in the main canyon. Just walking with occasional places where you have to step up slickrock a few feet.

Poison Ivy Levels in Death Hollow

There will be thick poison ivy all the way down Death Hollow, up to where it intersects the Escalate River. In my opinion you would be missing out if you by passed the BMT route into Death Hollow. If you're worried about a car shuttle, then use the Bowington (Boynton) route across the...

Glacier Natl Park - Boulder Pass Trail

Nice route. Hike up to the Sue Lake overlook from Fifty Mountain if you have the time or energy. You won't have any problems hiking in from Packer's Roost to Fifty. You do have somewhere around 2500 feet of elevation gain, most of it in one spot, after McDonald Creek. It is through fire...

Silver Falls, Choprock Canyon, Neon Canyon, Escalante River Loop

I'm not sure about the miles, but as the others have said you can figure them out with google earth or the caltopo link. It seemed like only 6 or 7 miles down Silver Falls to the Escalante River. Choprock is much longer, and the route around the bench back to Silver Falls feels longer than it...

The Sawtooths in October: A 5 Day Alice, Toxaway, Vernon, Imogene Lakes Loop

This is a 5 day backpack in Idaho's Sawtooth Wilderness. I did this last year (2015) at the very end of October. I highly recommend checking out my video for it, even if just for the highlight reel at the beginning. Its one of the better video's i've put together, and some of the footages...

Glacier Natl Park - Boulder Pass Trail

The website Doug recommended has a great group of forum members who know the park. Definitely check it out, and see if anyone can help you with a ride.

Glacier Natl Park - Boulder Pass Trail

I agree. Both the Mokawanis Valley and Stoney Indian Pass areas are awesome. The Sue Lake Bench, above Mokowanis Lake, is absolutely worthy of a day exploring. So are the lakes up creek from Mokowanis Lake. I will also second the suggestion of going from Granite Park to Logan Pass instead...

Capitol Reef's Spring Canyon and Sulphur Creek loop from Holt Draw

I think its too short of a hike for 4 or 5 days. And, you walk in water the entire route up Sulfur Creek. I really think you should look into Canyonlands for your trip. It seems to fit what you're looking for.

Return to Middle Basin, Hayden Pk, & Bald Mtn

Love it Will! And I LOVE your passion. I can't believe you took most of those photos with a camera phone. Your photos area really good. Ever since I saw the cover photo on the homepage, i've been looking forward to reading this. Thanks for the write up.

    Chasing Petroglyphs through the Mist

This group of posters love the Winds. If you get some time, you should post a story or two about the Winds or Beartooths. It would be well received.

    Chasing Petroglyphs through the Mist

Well, I'm with you on the smart phone. I only have a flip phone because my family wants to get a hold of me. I actually hate the gopro cameras too, but they focus well on action shots. Glad to have you on these forums. Hope you post more often. You really do take exceptional pictures.

Nice work Dave. You take really good photos. You're only missing one thing: The kids these days are calling them "Selfie Sticks".

Upper Death Hollow and the Old Bowington Road, From Hell's Backbone down to the Escalante River

I think you're talking about the spot where Bob is dropping down, and you can see Mike and Art above him on the boulders? There isn't a spring or water flow in that area. The only way water would be flowing is if it's flooding, or recently flooded. And if thats the case, then you won't need...

Probably because he keeps picking up balloons and other trash to pack out. And those tree branches for whatever reason. :)

The Old Faithful Loop - The Exploration of the Shoshone Creek and Firehole River Drainages

If we had actually made it there, the way you routed it, I'm not so sure we would have made it back. :)

Upper Death Hollow and the Old Bowington Road, From Hell's Backbone down to the Escalante River

I think there are several factors at play. A big one has to do with body type, and layering. Mike was swimming in these pools with no shirt on, and I believe both he and Art had minimal clothing. I had extra dry layers, so changing into dry clothes was an option. When your in narrows like...

Upper Death Hollow and the Old Bowington Road, From Hell's Backbone down to the Escalante River

Yeah I found it easy to follow. Its a trail in many places, and marked with cairns. From the Escalante River, if you know where to look, you can see the old road bed going up. It also goes from the BMT north up to Sand Creek. It can be real hard to figure out where, but once you find it, its...

The Old Faithful Loop - The Exploration of the Shoshone Creek and Firehole River Drainages

I took it out of the video, to help cut down on the total length of time. Plus my narration was terrible in that clip. I didn't realize until after I published that you mention finding it in your final thoughts at the end.

The Old Faithful Loop - The Exploration of the Shoshone Creek and Firehole River Drainages

Did you notice how I kept Hugh in between me and the approaching black bear? :) Hugh, on the other hand, started walking towards the bear as soon as I said something, to get a better photo. :scatman:
