    Pilgrim Creek - Teton Wilderness - October 7, 2016

I went to the original scene of the tuna incident this September, and gave a little speech about it on camera. Not nearly as much bear sign this year as in the past. No carcasses or bones either down there either.

    Floating Smith River in Montana

It might have already been mentioned, but the Smith River has some new food storage rules for bears. I almost went this year, and we were going to either have to buy an electric fence, or buy a special type of cooler for our food.

Nice report Hugh. I love the fall colors in that area. Great to see Danny made it out for a trip.

Thanks Jackson. I didn't mean it as a negative towards the bag night thing. I just don't always feel comfortable posting stuff, since it can be a lot, and some people take it as a "look at me" type thing, which is not what i'm going for.

Look for Olson Creek. The lakes directly east of the Guardhouse. You can see part of it in this picture, the top lake. I was going to write up the trip report this week, but need to wait until I get back to my other computer down in Utah. It's kind of a good one. Most incredible trip...

    Album Campsites

A few tent shots from Wyoming's Wind River Range. I'll admit, they are starting to grow on me a little bit. Just a little though. ;) Camped below Knife Point, with the eastern Indian Pass out of sight to the right. This creek drains into the North Fork of Bull Lake Creek. A windstorm...

A few mug shots from the last 2 months. I've got some reports to write up: Fairyland Basin, Yellowstone National Park. After 9 years, I finally made it out to Gyrfalcon Lake, in Glacier National Park. Another shot of me at Gyrfalcon Lake, with my buddy Pat, who masterminded our traverse...

    Album Summit Shots

A few shots from the top of Pyramid Peak, Glacier National Park. Me at the top, with Sue Lake in the background. Another shot of me at the top, with Glenns and Cosley Lakes below. Looking across as Stoney Indian Pass, to the right of Wacheche Mountain. Looking down on Margaret Lake...

Awesome! Thanks for writing this up. I love this area. Talk about some exciting country. Glad you guys had a good time. Not many people get out that way outside of outfitters.

Avoiding Weekend Crowds - Tetons vs. Wind Rivers

Yes, i've spent a fair amount of time in that area. You will see people for sure. Cascade Canyon especially. From there up to Lake Solitude will be similar to going up to Titcomb Basin. But more day hikers, and less competition for campsites. Both places have their own beauty. The Tetons...

Avoiding Weekend Crowds - Tetons vs. Wind Rivers

Yes, it was insane, and kind of strange. I actually did a weekend trip in Coyote the weekend before with friends, and it wasn't overly crowded outside of the main arch there. Then I went right back a week later, and it was so busy I actually took time to count. I walked in from Hurricane Wash...

    Album Fall Colors 2016

A few shots from Glacier National Park this last week. Lots of yellow, some browns and reds. Heading up towards Brown Pass, the Hole in the Wall basin above the headwall. An un named stream at Jefferson Pass, Mount Cleveland visible in the distance. Looking down on the un named lake...

Getting water in Yellowstone thermal areas

I will also add that the water in Yellowstone is very hard on a filter. Probably has to do with what Jeff was talking about. You will clog quickly. I've gone to using a Steripen, and therefore have no problem with clogging anymore. But of course that doesn't take out the taste or filter out...
